Information about the Canada Winter Games (CWG) Trials

The CWG Trials will be held in Whistler on the weekend of January 2-3, 2027.  This is a Tier 2 event, which means there will be CPL points for the Senior/U23, U20/U18 and U/16 age categories.

Saturday, Jan 2,2027

Classic Technique, Individual Sprint, 1200 m.
Categories: U23/Senior, U20/18 and U16 for both Men and Women.  U16 athletes wishing to compete in the Trials must register in the U20/U18 category.
In each category, the top 30 athletes from the Qualification Round will advance to the Heats.
Note: U14 athletes will not be allowed to compete in this race due to NC Racing Licence restrictions (new this year!).

Free Technique, Interval Start, 7.5 km.
Categories: all regular race categories from U8 to Masters, for both Men and Women.  U16 athletes wishing to compete in the Trials must register in the U20/U18 category.
Note: U14 athletes will be able to compete in their own age category, but they will not be able to ski up due to the age restrictions on the NC Racing Licence.
