8th in the world!
Wednesday, March 6th
Eula Palmer Bird from Sovereign Lake Nordic Club was 8th today in Norway at the World Junior Championships, in the 10km Interval Start classic technique race. Ella Fuller from Fernie Nordic Society was 21st, in her first race ever at World Juniors.
Both born in 2009, they were the two youngest competitors in the top-25, racing competitors up to three years older.
That is now SIX top-10 finishes for BC athletes at the 2026 World Junior Championships, compared to only three all-time beforehand.
Louison Dubief from Fernie Nordic Society and Eamon Wilson from Hollyburn Cross Country Ski Club both placed 35th, finishing in the top half of the pack.
