CVTC Welcomes New Sponsors to Growing Team

The Callaghan Valley Training Centre is pleased to announce new partners for the 2012-13 season.  The support of these organizations is invaluable to providing quality training equipment and supplies to the athletes striving for top international results.

Yoko Gloves
Yoko is the exclusive hand-wear provider to the Callaghan Valley Training Centre.  The athletes received their new gloves in mid-November, just before their first (cold) races of the season in Canmore, AB.  As senior athlete Geoffrey Richards commented, "our new Yoko gloves are really good - they seem really durable and the heavier pair is really warm while also thin enough that I still feel in control of my ski poles."  For more information visit: www.yoko.fi

Bliz Eyewear
Bliz provides ski glasses and visors to the Callaghan Valley Training Centre.  Bliz visors have been a popular cross country ski accessory for a number of years and the CVTC athletes were stoked to get some pairs to wear with pride.  Most of the centre athletes made use of their pro-flip visors at the Haywood NORAM on Sunday, December 9 in Vernon, BC (Stefan Sander-Green): "The race conditions were really weird as it was cold but also a bit of freezing rain in the air.  You could not wear regular glasses as they would only get a film of ice on them.  The Bliz visor was perfect as we could use it to sheild our eyes, while also being able to see out the bottom."  See more Bliz product at: www.blizeyewear.com.

Westcomb Jackets
The Callaghan Valley Training Centre is easily noticed with their new Westcomb jackets.  The team received a light down jacket in bright blue and a yellow shell for this winter.  As coach Chris Manhard comments, "It's been really great to have Westcomb's support over the years.  They make great quality jackets that are also stylish.  The team likes to wear them: they look good and they're really functional.  We look more like a team travelling to races and are more identifiable on the podium."  Westcomb products are all made in Canada: www.westcomb.com/

Honey Stinger
Honey Stinger joined the Callaghan Valley Training Centre supplier pool in 2012.  Sebastien Dandurand says, "The Honey Stinger chews are, without a doubt, my favourite training snack.  They keep me going on the long workouts.  The protein bars are always in my bag in the wax room so I have a good recovery snack after the workout, too.  Protein bars normally taste really bad, but Honey Stinger bars are quite delicious.  Sometimes it's hard to remember that they're a performance tool and not a snack!"  Honey Stinger product information is available at: www.honeystinger.com
