Race Report: Painting the Podium Blue

There was lots of CVTC blue on the podium at the Western Canadian Championships 10 km Classic event in Prince George on Thursday, February 12. 

Geoffrey Richards took the big win in the Open Men's category, besting the course and compeition in a time of 29 minutes and 34 seconds.  Not far behind was teammate Martin Schrama in the silver medal position, making it an Olympic-moguls style podium with CVTC in the two top spots.  Sebastian Dandurand and Paul Dupuis finished 7th and 10th, respectively.

The Junior Men's category was also dominated by CVTC with usual favourite, Colin Foley, taking the top spot and 6th overall.  Sam Morris finished 2nd in Junior men, Andrew Avis 4th and Liam Patterson 5th.

Senior team member, Geoffrey Richards, described the day this way: "It feels great to do well individually, but also do well as a team.  We had fun out there today!  The conditions were great!"

Up next are the classic technique sprints on Saturday, February 15 and a mass start free technique event on Sunday, February 16.
