Race Report: Sovereign Lake Freestyle

It was a cold day at the races that didn't slow down the CVTC team at all.  With the thermometer hoovering at legal (-18.1) the 15km freestyle event was a go. 

Racing on the same courses that World Cup athletes races on in 2005 the race was no small challenge.  Geoffrey Richards lead the team and put in his best result so far this season with a 16th place overall finish.  Not far behind was Sebastian Dandurand in 22nd.  Colin Foley rounded out the CVTC top-3 with a 26th place finish, good enough for 4th place in the junior category.

Other top results included Andrew Avis who stepped up to a new level amongst the team.  Coming from a hockey background it's little wonder why Avis shone in the skating event.  "I find skating a bit more natural," laughed Avis.
